There are over 50 different types of window films designed to solve different problems relating to glass: reduce heat gain and glare and improve comfort while lowering both cooling and heating costs. Window films are designed to stop specific types of radiation that can be harmful. Most films can block out over 96% of ultraviolet radiation, a leading cause of fading. Some films are designed to stop blue light that is bad for high tech clean room electronics manufacturing. Other films are specifically designed to make glass stronger and more shatter resistant. Still others are made to be abused and then discarded thereby thwarting graffiti crime and vandalism. Simply put, if you have a problem with windows or any type of glass, there is a window film to solve the problem.
How long does window film last?
Quality window films such as Madico are expected to last indefinitely. In fact, many of these products come with a residential lifetime warranty, or a 10-year commercial warranty.
How do I choose a professional installation company?
We would be happy to recommend a professional dealer for you in your area. Most importantly, be sure that your installing dealer subscribes to the following standards:
- Member of IWFA (International Window Film Association) and abides by their standards of professional installation
- Has or is pursuing IWFA certification
- Carries full liability coverage and will provide copy of coverage upon request
- Has successfully completed manufacturer installation training programs
- Can provide various referrals of similar types of installations
How much will it cost?
From as much as $35.00 per square foot for a heavy security film and window attachment system to as little as $2.00 per square foot for a large commercial building with standard film and installation. The cost of an installation depends on many factors just as any custom service product does. The size and difficulty of the job, the type of film specific to the problem, job location, interior and exterior application all affect the price. The nice thing is that price quotes are always free. We suggest that you always take at least two quotes unless the installing dealer has been recommended to you by someone you trust.
