Chicago Infrastructure Trust OKs $25 million energy efficiency project

1st initiative launched since body’s 2012 creation would retrofit 75 city buildings

By Bill Ruthhart, Chicago Tribune reporterAfter months of delays, the Chicago Infrastructure Trust voted Tuesday to approve its first project, a plan that would tap a private investor to pay for energy efficiency improvements in 75 city buildings.

The proposal also must gain approval from the City Council, and the trust still has to select an investor and settle on the final financial terms.

Hurricane Forecaster Sees “Very Active” Season

Colorado State University researcher predicts 17 named Atlantic storms

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The 2007 Atlantic hurricane season should be “very active,” with 17 named storms, a top storms forecaster said Tuesday.

Those named storms are expected to include five intense or major hurricanes, according to forecaster William Gray’s team at Colorado State University. Gray said there is a 74 percent probability of a major hurricane hitting the U.S. coast.
